Here's a logo i created for an awesome new lingerie, lounge wear, and swimwear line called Naki. For the project, i created a bombshell "mascot" and sultry lettering to match.

To kick off its debut collection, "The Icon Collection," Naki pairs funky bikinis, bandeaus, and cut out one pieces with images of hollywood knockouts marilyn monroe and audrey hepburn. Designed and made in New York City, Naki uses eco-friendly printing methods and all pieces are sold as separates that can be mixed and matched...totally loving it!

the latest issue of lula mag, issue #12, shines with this nice spread of jewels styled by leith clark and photographed by damon heath. but i think it was the bubbly lipped model/brown-eyed model, anais pouliot that really won me over. here are some of my favorite shots from the segment.

though there was some art featured in the issue and a couple of illustrations (notably from rodarte and fanny bostrom), i was hoping for a bit more fashion illustration throughout. maybe next time lula?

well, i said i would be making zines and so i am. this afternoon, i spent the day using my sewing machine to bind together the pages of flippancies, a collection of short stories about girls flipping their hair. The zines will be accompanying the drawings for my show at the Fashion Institute of Technology. There are only 30 copies, so you'll have to grab one early on if you are stopping by the opening Tuesday night. If you click on the next pictures, you'll be able to read the first two out of four of the short stories.

i've decided to include a little zine-lette of short stories that complement Hair Lust, titled flippancies for the show. the zine contains four diary-style entries about girls flipping their hair and all the longing, jealousy, and fear it enduces. if all is well, i should have multiples printed so people can grab their own copy at the opening.

it's fiiiiiiiiinally summer and it really feels like it in brooklyn. i just spent a nice afternoon in the sun with my beau riding my bike in short shorts to the brooklyn flea where i stared at the crowd and ate wonderful goodies like a beast and then trekked back through beautiful prospect park...ahhh. my show's just around the corner, so i'm still wrapping things up, but summer is here. at long last, summer is here.

here are some pics from nastygal vintage. the one piece bathing suit kind of reminds me of something i had when i was six...around the time when i could actually fit in one of those teensy little swimming pools. it's kind of nutty, but i love it.

i've been a fan of parlour vintage's stellar curation of second hand treasures, off the wall styling, and inspiration/style blog (bits and baubles) for quite some time. You can always peruse a miraculous assortment of finds at the parlour shop--from vintage Halston polka dot trench coats, to Pucci-inspired print frocks, flowy hippie tops, and awesomely mod throwbacks.

Yesterday, i was honored to get a nice mention on the parlour blog on the pieces from my show, Hair Lust.

Everytime I pick up an issue of Nylon Japan, i'm stunned by the insane art and styling that goes into every issue. The issues are consistently off the chain and loaded with eyepopping goodies. All I can say is, thank god they are listed in Japanese, or else my wallet would be in serious trouble.
